Abstract

The recent International Court of Justice (ICJ) advisory opinion on Kosovo is bound to have a profound impact on the evolving role of International Law with respect to Unilateral declaration of Independence and the recognition of statehood by the international community of Nations. This paper discusses the ICJ advisory opinion, International Law and its implications on the African continent given the current conflicts and wars within its borders.
