The Cooperation Strategy of World Bank with Azerbaijan Republic

The Azerbaijan Republic became a member of the World Bank in September 1992 and the International Development Association. The major focus of the World Bank's work to date has been to assist Azerbaijan by providing policy advice, financing for both investments the government budget, and coordination of aid. In particular, the World Bank is working with the authorities to strengthen the government's institutional capacity to manage its petroleum resources and formulate key policy changes to accelerate reform. Total WB/IDA Lending as of may 1, 2008: US$ 1000 million for 40 projects. To improve this cooperation further, between 2007-2011, a cooperation strategy was prepared by Bank. In this paper, World Bank's cooperation strategy with Azerbaijan in coming years, has been studied.
