Abstract

Italian Abstract: L'autore, membro della "Commissione Saracena", descrive il dibattito sulla fattibilità e gli obiettivi della pianificazione nell'economia italiana. L'articolo riassume le principali discussioni sulle migliori strategie per mantenere un alto tasso di crescita, eliminare le disuguaglianze regionali e settoriali, il raggiungimento di livelli comparabili di consumo pubblico e privato negli altri principali paesi europei.

English Abstract: The author, a member of the “Saraceno Commission”, describes the debate on the feasibility and objectives of planning in the Italian economy. The article summarises the main discussions on the best strategies to maintain a high rate of growth, eliminate regional and sectorial inequalities, achievement of comparable levels of public and private consumption to the other main European countries.
