Abstract
The age of a person today is 30 years. Assuming that he has studied all the books that had been written in the last say 1000 years, his age is not 30 years - it is 1000 30 i.e. 1030 years. A person who is at present 80 years old but has not studied any of the books written in the past should be considered to be younger to him. This is so because learning process is something through which one gets good training and gains good experience for leading a better life in the future. Modern educationists say that learning is a process which teaches one the art of making oneself fit enough to live in the changing circumstances. This is what Thiruvalluvar has expressed 2000 years ago in one of his Kurals the meaning of which is a person should learn what he learns without any mistake and after the learning process is over he should stick on to what he has learnt i.e. the essence of the Kural is - Learn and stick on to what you learn. My paper revolves around this theme.
