Abstract

Constructivism is an epistemological approach of the knowledge gathering process and it also explains how people acquire knowledge & construct their knowledge in their own way. It is an important inclusion in the 21st-centuries education system as well as for helping the extension of knowledge. However, Content analysis approach is used to evaluate teaching and learning in the Indian context in the light of constructivism. The primary aim of this study is to explore the progress and trends of constructivism. A qualitative approach is done to analyze content related to constructivism. The investigator used forty published articles of different journals for in-depth study. The above reviewed studies conclude that the constructivist approach also positively effective in teaching-learning situations in the various field of education. Students are also intrinsically motivated and doing much better performance through the teaching of the constructivist approach other than any approach. Students are also gain in problem-solving, flexibility in thinking, reflective thinking, reasoning skill, learn to make connections and associations by relating the subject matter to their own life experiences, clearly articulate their ideas, communicate their ideas & findings with others.
